        Dam 999 is an english movie produced by BizTV Network and directed by Sohan Roy. It is based on a real life incident that took place in 1975 in China that reportedly killed over 2 lakh people. The film is an emotional thriller and showcases nine human emotions.
Ban in Tamil Nadu
       Tamil Nadu Government banned the screening of the film on the ground that it can disturb the cordial ties between Tamil Nadu and Kerela. Tamil Nadu government felt that it refers to the Mullaperiyar dispute and can create panic among people over the collapse of the dam and divide the people of two states.
SC verdict on TN ban
       Following the ban, director Sohan Roy move the Supreme Court challenging the ban on screening his film in Tamil Nadu. He stated in the writ petition that state banned the screening without hearing him or affording him an opportunity for clarification and violated his fundamental right to freedom under Article 19 (1)(a). Supreme court asked Tamil Nadu to hear objections of Sohan Roy and pass appropriate order
